Clinical Nutrition

DP / 24 February 2015

It is a well known fact that nutrition is a fundamental aspect of looking and feeling our best. Our bodies are constantly working hard, growing and repairing, providing energy, digesting food, thinking and so much more. And where does it get the raw materials from to do all of this? Food of course.

We wouldn't put petrol in a diesel car and still expect it to work, but many people eat food that is not fuelling them effectively. Just because our bodies don't come to an abrupt halt does not mean to say they are not functioning well below an optimum level.

Messages in the media about nutrition can be conflicting and confusing but one message remains consistent - the food you eat has significant consequences for your health.

Eating the right food gives us the potential to improve numerous health conditions, optimise our physical and emotional wellbeing and enhance performance - so it is important for us to get it right

And the best news? You don't have to live on rabbit food to achieve results. The key to achieving health through nutrition is practicality, enjoyment and understanding of food.

Practicality - making healthy eating simple and achievable to succeed as part of a busy lifestyle.

Enjoyment - because food should be a pleasure, tasting great and nourishing us at the same time.

Understanding - knowing the effects that the foods we eat are having on us as individuals and being able to vary our food to suit our needs and the demands of ever busier lifestyles.
